What is the Say What You Mean Convention?
Ronald Reagan (born February 6th, 1911) was known as “The Great Communicator”. His vision, strong faith, humor and ability to connect with people changed the world! Art of Eloquence believes that the Lord gives each child that same potential. Our vision is to use humor, hands on activities and God’s Word to teach these same skills to you and your children so that you may unlock the power to Say What You Mean. Each year we celebrate this Great Communicator’s birthday with an online communication convention where the Christian community can come to learn more about the skills that studies show will increase your chance of success in your personal and professional life with humorous and fun activities for the whole family!
When: February 7-9, 2008
Where: Right here on this website and from the comfort of your own home! It’s virtual!
Theme: Stages - Childhood, College Prep and Career (Including Motherhood)
Admission: FREE
What FUN can you expect to find at the convention?
Each of the days will feature a Keynote Speaker and free, creative and fun workshops and seminars. Some will be live interactive text and voice chat seminars while others will be previously recorded audio seminar/interviews. Of course we will continue to have free giveaways, contests and prizes!
What You and Your Family Will Learn:
Studies show that effective communicators do better in school, have deeper friendships, more successful marriages and careers and are generally happier than their less articulate counterparts. Christians who are effective communicators are more likely to share and defend their faith well and are less likely to be influenced by the secular world. Communication skills are more than just making speeches or engaging in debates. And effective communication means different things at different stages of life.
This year, the Say What You Mean Convention brings you practical tips and training for each of the three main stages of life.
* Parents will learn how to communicate best with their children and how to teach communication skills to their children in a way that makes it fun and engaging.
* Teens will learn how vital communication is to the college prep process.
* Adults will learn the importance of communication skills to the hiring and promotion process as well as for small business owners and the most special career of motherhood!

“I really enjoyed the 2007 Say What You Mean Convention! The chats were fun, there was a LOT of information posted for free and the speakers. . . oh my. . . besides JoJo and Cindy Powers who are great ANY time. . . Gena Suarez from The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, Jeannie Fulbright from Apologia Science and then, the Big Kahuna himself. . . Dr. Jay Wile, Founder of Apologia! They all spoke with authority and grace on cutting edge topics for Christians. I wish it could’ve gone on for a few weeks and I can’t wait for the next one!” -Carla
“Our family would like to thank you for the wonderful ‘Say What You Mean’ convention. Our son listened on several days and learned much! It has been very encouraging to view your website and see the work the Lord is leading you to do. May the Lord bless you for all the hard work you did to supply homeschoolers with these much-needed communication skills to do the work the Lord is calling each of them to do.” -Terri
